About The School
About Chicago Mosaic School
The Chicago Mosaic School is the only premier, not-for-profit Mosaic Art School in North America. The school, founded in 2005 fills the void in education in mosaic arts and serves professional artists, designers, architects, as well as, beginners and enthusiasts. We offer mosaic classes for students of all ages and working at all levels.

We are approaching our 6th year as the leader in Mosaic Art education. Our beautiful 5,200 square foot facility houses our offices, library, a huge classroon and lecture space, kitchen and students lounge area, a mosaic gallery space. We have been able to offer a wide variety of mosaic workshops and have been able to host some of the most renowned mosaic artists in the world, coming to Chicago from as far away as Italy, Great Britain, Australia, and Israel.

These artists have included Maggy Howarth, who came to teach her technique of pebble mosaics outside her studio in England for the first time; Ilana Shafir, a world renowned artist who came to lead a week course on her unique method of Spontaneous Mosaics; Carolina Zanelli, a former faculty member of the Spilimbergo School of Mosaics in Italy, instructed students on how to use Smalti in a classical and contemporary way; Matteo Randi came to teach the ancient Ravenna method and educated students on ancient applications and materials.

As always, we appreciate your support as well as the support we have received from businesses, neighbors and friends, the City of Chicago and most of all our dedicated students and staff. We will continue to grow and give the public access to learning our unique and stimulating educational environment. We look forward to welcoming you to Chicago!
